Barry Dawson IV was born into the rich heritage of being a die-hard Bear Fan back in 1973. This mantle was imprinted upon him from his earliest memories at age three.
As the years passed, the elation of the 1985 title run, combined with a handful of years as also-rans and countless years of mediocrity/bottom-dwelling has slowly altered his mental state to the point where he probably shouldn’t be allowed to watch his team’s games in a public setting, or near sharp objects.
In addition to being a die-hard Chicago Bear fan, Barry Dawson is a writer, a humorist, and a poet.
In 2007, Barry began to find his voice as a freelance writer by contributing film reviews to a website called HDFest, a site dedicated to high-definition film festivals and digital seminars. In 2008, he expanded his writing voice by writing lifestyle, sports, and weekly NFL picks articles for an entertainment site called Far Running Fat Man.
As evidenced by (or at times, in spite of) his frequent rants, Barry has an easygoing nature and a dynamic writing style that often draws humor from unusual situations. He has a knack for using colorful metaphors to illustrate a point or convey an idea. Barry’s writing style is amusing, entertaining, and often delightfully irreverent. He has an acerbic wit that offers clever descriptions.
Barry has also self-published a poetry collection titled, Blind-Eye Turning.
In addition to comic-relief, Barry’s prose can deftly tap into both subtle and overt emotions to communicate any theme and provide the reader with a more tactile experience than simply reading words. Barry greatly enjoys sharing his written ideas with others.
